Otolaryngology Voice Clinic

The Voice Clinic at Virginia Mason specializes in the evaluation and management of voice, airway and swallowing disorders. Exercising the highest standard of care, Clinic Staff diagnose and treat patients with medical, surgical and voice therapy techniques.  To that end, the Clinic utilizes the most effective means and modern diagnostic technology currently available, e.g., videostroboscopy, etc. – for the benefit of their patients.

Voice Clinic staff members include:

Jaime I. Chang, MD, Laryngologist
Yumi Sumida, CCC-SLP, Speech Pathologist

In the wake of treatment, it is the desire of the Voice Clinic staff to safeguard and perpetuate their patient's continued good vocal health so that injury does not reoccur.  To serve that goal, Carolena Mátus is a collaborative partner with the Clinic for the benefit of their professional voice use patients. These patients include singers, actors and public speakers recovering from surgery, vocal injury and other issues who wish to continue healthy vocal development to support their singing and other vocal goals on a professional level.
